Our ethos is to raise happy & healthy animals that have lived as naturally attainable as possible. Our birds and animals are carefully & intentionally selected to be raised under the highest standards in order to provide you the customer with the very best. We only raise the slow growing strain of chickens that are raised for a minimum of 81 days to ensure good quality taste and flavour.

Our Guineas fowls, Ducks, Geese, Turkey, Lamb and Goat are raised for a minimum of six months, guaranteed to yield good quality and a superior tasting meat.

CHEMICAL FREE
Once birds upon reaching maturity are allowed to roam freely and forage as nature intended. They are not exposed to chemicals, pollutants, meal additives, growth hormones or harmful materials in any way, shape or form. They have access to quality acres of grassland free of pradators or stress and they have ample grounds to roam freely in.

We seriously believe that a true free range environment is incredibly important for the welfare of our birds and animals, as is adequate protective shelter from inclement weather conditions. All our animals are provided with nutritious feed, safe & clean shelter and fresh water at all times.

Every shepherd and farm hand at Canaan Life Farms take their job seriously and are passionate about caring for the animals & birds, ensuring that they are humanely handled, responsbily notured and they are very dedicated to maintaining our high standards of animal welfare.

For this reason, our animals are help in small numbers to allow for careful shepherding and tendering of the animals. We are consciously ethical, compassionate and determined to only feed others what we will feed ourselves. That is our ethos and we are proud to uphold it.

We deliberately keep all our birds and animals in small flocks. There is no overcrowing and competition. This promotes natural behaviours and enables all our animals to flourish. Happy animals produces quality meat! We are serious about keeping the animals happy.

All our birds are guranateed free range and they are free to forage for food from the farm grassland. All our birds and animals are allowed and encouraged to live more naturally in a secure farm enviroment with access to grass, land, water, fresh air and much more.

All our chickens are raised for 81 days as per our standard slow grown scheme. Our turkey, Guinea Fowl, Geese and duck are slow grown from a minimum of 180 days ( Six Months). All our birds are grown to natural maturity thus producing flavoursome birds with beautifully textured meat.

Because our animals are not reared on a large scale and due to a higher pre-booked orders, we do not have enough birds or animals left over to take to the markets, hence we do not presently attend markets to sell our products. We currently supply both the residential and limited commercial outlets, especially at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons and at special occasions.
